Want to know more about us?

The Strict Baptist Historical Society was formed in 1960 to promote an interest in the history and stand for Scriptural truth maintained (through God’s grace) by Strict Baptists; and also to bring into being a central repository where books, documents and other things of historical interest connected directly or indirectly with the rise and growth of Strict Baptists may be preserved for the benefit of present and future generations, in the fervent hope that the project will be for the glory of God and the good of His people.

Our aims

1. To encourage the preservation of all books, documents and materials of historical interest connected directly or indirectly with the Particular Baptists and the Strict Baptists.

2. To collect, collate and catalogue all matters of interest from the material received.

3. To promote and disseminate by all means a better knowledge of denominational history.

4. To further the exchange of historical information.

We also have a set a rules that set out what we and our members are entitled to do.

Can you help us?

We are always interested to hear of new histories that are being published relating to Strict and Particular Baptist chapels.  If you have any details please contact our Librarian.
